The Veritas IRB is a multidisciplinary group comprised of 30 men and women with extensive knowledge of clinical research, medicine, dentistry, pharmacology, biomedical sciences, genomics, alternative medicine/natural health, ethics, law and social sciences. Over 4000 research studies have been reviewed by Veritas IRB since its formation in 1996.

The ethics board members are not employees of ethica Clinical Research Inc.

The Veritas IRB is chaired by Barry F. Brown, PhD. Barry completed his PhD in Philosophy at the University of Toronto. He taught bioethics there for 30 years and was the Coordinator of the Undergraduate Program in Bioethics in the Faculty of Arts and Science. His special interests in this field include research ethics. He was a volunteer reviewer for the Office of Research Services for over 20 years. In 2003, Barry received the prestigious Award of Excellence for Lifetime Achievement in Human Research Protection from the Health Improvement Institute and the Office for Human Research Protection (OHRP) of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
